In the foreground are original graves of civilian victims of the bombing raids on Cologne. That gave me the inspiration for this picture and clear statement against (any) war. Also a statement against the Rightwingers in Germany and other countrys. Because they sow their hate again. This story must not be repeated.
Today on the 1.September and 80years later is a good day for a remembrance.

Koommunitat Imshausen is a community located on the hill just above the village of Imshausen. Apart from enjoying picturesque scenery, they grow organic fruits and vegetables, and some years ago they have initiated Adam von Trott foundation that supports projects related to civil resistance and intercultural understanding.

I can handle zombies, monsters, aliens very well - truth is, I like them.
But.
But sculptures / depictions of wellfed toddlers in armour, killing each other , really give me the creeps. Which mentally sane person would picture toddlers like that?
To be honest, I always was kind of a puttophobic, especially with the baroque puttos, I remember asking my mom as a child on some museum trip, why all these children are so ugly.

East side gallery, Berlin. Le baiser de honecker et brejnev, fresque de Dimitri Vrubel.

Le plus long pan de mur encore debout (1,3km) est devenu en 1990 une galerie à ciel ouvert décorée par 118 artistes. Elle a été restaurée à l'occasion des 20 ans de la chute du mur, en 2009 mais les tags et les graffitis recommencent à l'envahir.

This is a part of one of two main tunnels of the "Government Bunker Germany", near Marienthal, Ahrtal, Germany.
NATO mandated Germany to provide for a fallback of the government to strike back a nuclear attack. You can visit the last 203m of formerly 17km full equipped bunker. So did I, and it felt a bit depressing and childhood memories of low-flying and siren drills increased.

I would say, that Berlin is not a city, but a pure experience.
And water is a necessary part of it. There is a lot of water in Berlin, and, therefore, many bridges. Here and there, you are crossing this water. And the chances are, that you are looking at Spree river.

It is a tradition all over Germany to light bonfires over the easter weekend. In Sankt Andreasberg the fire is lit on the mountain behind the Bell tower.

This tradition dates back to Saxon times and pre-dates Christianity. The fires chase winter away and help Spring to arrive.

It's that time of year. Back in 2004, about this time, I was kicking around in Germany with a few friends from flight school, just prior to our deployment. We went to Oktoberfest in Munich, because that makes good sense. It's a good time to work on the bucket list. I went off on my own for a while to explore, found a gothic church, and climbed the exceedingly narrow staircase to the top. This is the view from the top of the church, towards the drunken debauchery that is Oktoberfest.

30 years ago, on the 9th of November 1989, the Berlin Wall was fallen. I was in East Berlin a couple of weeks later and couldn't believe first, that this is legal to visit West Berlin with a Soviet passport. It happened to be true, although.

I went through the border control and at the very first time it was there in front of me - the West World.

I celebrated this moment in an Irish pub with a pint of Guinness, I had only heard about until then. The beer cost almost a month stipend for me

My happy place is between the village of Bresewitz and the island Oie. There's about a kilometer and a half of pure landscape. No houses, no people. Just you, the sea birds, the bleating of the sheep and the late evening light. It's like detox for pretty much everything. We should all have places like that.

Like a cheap detective novel: It was a dark, foggy and rainy night ... I was on vacation with my motorcycle on the Baltic sea. Wanted to photograph the Fehmarnsund Bridge, which connects the islands Fehmarn with the mainland, at night. But there was considerable traffic despite the advanced hour. I tried to pick up the bridge from the middle of the street, but had to stop because of the traffic again and again. So I decided to take some photos from the side. A good decision, as it turned out.

Last summer we went to Havelberg, a small old town just at the other end of the Havel river. Few kilometers from it joins the Elbe river. Weather was great, the scenery was just beautiful.
The Cathedral (finished in 1170 - you´ll see later on) is outside the town on a hill, overlooking the town and the Havel river.
After the Wendish Crusade (1147) this was one of the first monuments of so called christianity in northern Germany.

We Play in the German 4th Division and are a very "Grass-roots" Club.Rugby is not the most popular sport here in Germany (or even very well known) so a big part of our work as a Rugby Club here is advertising our beloved sport to the German public.

The Saint-Lambert (German: St. Lamberti) is a Roman Catholic church in the German town of Münster. The building is the most important religious building in the Westphalian late Gothic.
On the tower of the Lambertus iron cages which once hung the dead bodies of the leaders of the Anabaptist Jan van Leiden, Berend Krechting and Berend Knipperdolling.
Every night climbs one of the last European tower guards the tower to get there from 21:00 until midnight to blow.
