è preservare i luoghi inaccessibili.
Costoni
impervi striati di ghiaccio,
rive non accostabili, gole.
Tracce di vita animale che ci sfugge.
Proteggere il silenzio con parole
minime, rispettose, memorabili”.

eye

Deeply in your eyes by Salvo

Posted on 2014-12-14

St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Rome, Italy. The picture was taken early in the morning, before the crowd started filing in (just two hours later there was a queue a mile long to get in)

To think of it, the best are always cheerful. It is far better to be happy, and it is also a sign of something is like having immortality while you are still alive. A complicated thing. For Whom the Bell Tolls - Hemingway H.

Photographed well before dawn, this is a long exposure photo of a huge cruise ship making its way along the lagoon in Venice. In the foreground is a row of gondolas moored near St Mark's Square.

It was announced last week in the Italian media that cruise ships like this one that exceed 96,000 tonnes would be banned from passing so close to St Marks Square.

Tower of Sant'Isidoro, Teulada, Sardinia

An ancient tower by Longroute

Posted on 2013-12-13

The tower and the church of Sant'Isidoro in Teulada, south Sardinia.

It's the only square base watching tower found in Sardinia (all the others are round) and the scholars don't agree about the building date. Some says during Byzantine epoch and others in 1600. The small church behind was built in 1600 in honour of Sant'Isidoro the protector of farmers. A feast is held here each year the day of the saint.
