When i went to Europe last year, i had a few pre-conceived ideas for photos and capturing the Belchatow Power Station in Poland at night was one on that list...

Having been there a few years earlier, i had a strong image in my mind of the chimneys belching out smoke into to air and i wanted to use a long exposure to catch that movement... an added bonus is the fact that this power station is situation right over an open-pit coal mine, which provided other interesting elements for this composi

This year me and my sons were hiking through beautiful Kraków-Częstochowa Jurassic Upland and this moth (Zygaena filipendulae) has caught my attention with its truly special colours - black body and dark metallic wings with six vivid red spots.

Autumn was just moving towards its peak when I took this photo. The explosion of colours was just what we were hoping to find when exploring another park from the many found in this city.

The day was a bit gloomy, although the rain held off for most part. I did not mind that as it allowed for some good even light across the entire scene. The alley was all covered in freshly fallen leaves and combined with the canopies that made me feel like we were in a colourful tunnel while walking.

The city of Łódź in Poland has some very climatic streets, where the time seems to have been almost suspended since the end of Second World War... Legionow Street is one such street - if i took the modern cars and neon signs away, it could easily still be 1950's, especially with the old German tram adding to this mood...
