Stockholm Tunnelbana - the underground metro system - is well known for the decoration of its stations. Some are decorated in art and various themes, while others are simply left rough, carved straight out the raw bedrock and left "unfinished" as part of the decor.

I had a chance to visit a couple of stations and this is the Radhuset Station. The painted rock ceiling looks like it was on fire with the illumination exaggerating that effect.

Big boulders like this are often dotted with sunbathers in the Stockholm archipelagoes. The total lack of sand makes these the most suitable alternatives to the beaches we most associate with sun worship.

We took a half day boat excursion to and past a number of the archipelagos that make up Stockholm. We saw many interesting cottages, docks and boats, as well as fishermen and sunbathers. There was a complete absence of sand - hard rock composed the shoreline almost everywhere.

My little brother liked the idea of running down the road in my photo, and I like the end result too. It adds a little more dynamic to the landscape.
This photo was taken right outside my grandparents' house, just at the road, looking towards the neighbour. It's essentially the same view as from their kitchen table.
