World Autism day ...

World Autism day ... by Aubélia Vanneste

Posted on 2023-04-02

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder: a permanent disability, not a disease. Our communication is different from yours, we do not understand metaphors. We understand everything in pieces so that we need a lot of time to form a whole, which is sometimes not possible. We do not understand social contact, for example friendship. A disturbance in our imagination. We see everything in detail.

Posted on 2020-02-15

Fonske Leuven Belgium

Fonske (the Fons Sapientiae) by Jason Kravitz

Posted on 2019-05-13

The Fons Sapientiae or Fonske statue in Leuven, Belgium is a tribute to student life in this ~600 year old University town.

Some say he is pouring the cup of knowledge into his skull, though given Leuven is home to the famous Stella Artois beer, perhaps he is imbibing other libations.

kestrel fighting a crow

The Battle of Dark and Light by Jason Kravitz

Posted on 2018-03-15

Kestrel vs. Crow

A crow and kestrel fight for prey while another crow watches from the sidelines. They were flying around the sky and dive bombing each other. This dramatic moment was captured as the kestrel was flying upward from a perched position while the crow lifted off.

Le secret du Bunker de Leffrinckoucke 2

Le secret du Bunker de Leffrinckoucke 2 by Libouton Martine

Posted on 2017-03-26

Le Dissident by Libouton Martine

Posted on 2015-11-17

Ghost

Ghost by P-TER

Posted on 2021-04-11

Night photography is something I love to do!

This photo was taken just before the swans (who normally swim in the canals of Bruges) were released after the compulsory agitation imposed by Europe for avian flu.

It was strange to walk in Bruges without the swans. Fortunately, the 120 swans have been released again. I wanted to demonstrate this with this photo.

Bruges has about 100 bridges in the style you see in the picture! The great thing about it is that almost every bridge is lit up at night. You just walked through a fairytale town!

The St. Bartholomew Tour is a religious procession. A seventeenth century chariot drawn by two Brabant horses carrying the statue of the patron saint around the countryside.
