Philippines, Luzon, Banaue, Tiered Rice Terraces. The Philippine Central Cordillera mountain region in Luzon is home to some of the most spectacular tiered rice terraces in the world. They were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. These terraces were carved over 2000 years ago!

Vigan was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. It is famous for its Spanish colonial architecture, its cobblestone streets and its architecture that combines Philippine, Asian and European design. The ancient city of Vigan was established in the 1500s and it is noted as being the best preserved example of a Spanish colonial town in Asia.
