Greetings from Switzerland
Saas Fee - Septembre 2014
Greetings from London, England
This is possibly the most photographed vantage point in London...(except maybe a selfie in front of Big Ben) ...it's such a compelling view that even after all these years of crossing the Golden Jubilee Bridge (opened in 2002) I'm standing shoulder to shoulder with the tourists to capture it time and again.
Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa
Table Mountain, inaugurated in 2012 as one of the world's seven natural wonders, can be seen in the background. We also see the Wheel of Excellence in its final location. It was first erected a few hundred metres (1000 feet) away from here in 2010 when South Africa hosted the FIFA World Cup.
The photo was taken from inside one of Cape Town favourite tourist destinations, the beautiful and vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.
Greetings from Maryland, USA
Brookside Gardens is a 50 acre garden that is located in Montgomery County, MD. There are different sections that include a butterfly garden, an aquatic garden, a rose garden and a woodland walk.
It is a very peaceful place to visit. I find that when life gets too stressful, visiting the gardens and taking photos is a great way to relax and to forget life's problems just for a little while.
Greetings from Ludlow, England
From the roof of St Laurences Church in Ludlow ( a Market town on the English side of the Welsh borders) looking almost towards the south with Broad Street running from the centre to the left of the frame.
Most of these rather grand houses started life as hovels and as the town became more affluent got large new façades built on them. The clock tower in the centre is on the Old Butter Cross market building. At the bottom of Broad Street on the left you can just discern the Broad Gate, the only surviving fortified entrance to the town.
I have put this in the Aminus3 Urban photo category, though as a small border town it scarcely makes the grade really :)
Greetings from Kerela, India
This waterfalls, famously known as Athirappilly Waterfalls is located in Kerala, (one of the states in) India.
This waterfalls is a part of the Chalakudy river that flows through Kerala. Falling from a height of 80 feet, this is one of the largest waterfalls in the state. This falls is situated in the Western Ghats (mountain range) which is one of the most important biodiversity hot spots in the world. This waterfall is a major tourist attraction that sees hundreds of tourists from various parts of India and the world.
It is not just calm, sweet and picturesque, but something natural and wild too.

Greetings from Santa Monica, California, USA
Santa Monica Pier is in Santa Monica California.
I have lived on this beach or blocks from this beach for 30 years.
It is home.
The sea and sky are raging full of life, changing colors from day to day.
On this rare storm day the clouds gathered in a most beautiful and dramatic way.
Greetings from Washington State, USA
There it was with no clouds obscuring the view this year. All the trails in Mount Rainier National Park are beautiful places to hike and enjoy nature. This one is especially nice and pretty easy, too.

Greetings from Japan
this is just a glimpse of Mount Fuji we were able to see from Motohakone on the shores of Lake Ashinoko in Japan... the condition were already very poor with clouds fast approaching and within couple of hours the rain came and that was it...
one the right you can see a Torii Gate marking the entrance to the Hakone Shrine...
Greetings from Chunkankadai, India
This picture was shot at Chunkankadai near Nagercoil which is about 20 minutes from Kanyakumari which is the southern most tip of India.
This place symbolizes the diversity of South India. Being so close to the beach, the land is still so fertile, hence green and scenic.
This is one of those hundreds of lotus pond. These lotus catchers swim across in a tub sizes boat and undertake a risky job each day for their daily bread.
Greetings from Thailand
A sight in a buddhist temple in the north of thailand - to get an better idea of how huuuge these statues actually were, take another look on my blog at the 25th of october (in exactly one month) ;)
the meaning of the pose (which is a typical one in buddhism, amongst others) is described here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reclining_Buddha
Greetings from Brussels, Belgium
This is a photo of the fleur de tapis (flower carpet) in the Grand Place of Brussels Belgium.
Every 2 years, a huge display of over a million begonias is laid out in the middle of this large town square. The display lasts only a few days and thousands of people come to see the design.
The design is based on a theme. For 2014, the theme was dedicated to 50 years of Turkish immigration to Belgium and the pattern was created to look like a Turkish rug design.
This photo was taken on ground level. It's also possible to go into one of the town square buildings to see the design from a higher vantage point. But this year I brought my dogs and didn't get a chance to view it from above.
Greetings from Estonia
This a view from hill called Suur Munamägi (318m / 1000ft), which is located in the middle part of Haanja uplands (Võru county).
It's the highest point in Estonia and other two Baltic countries. On the top of the Suur Munamägi there is an observation tower – the view from 346.7 meters (1100ft) is 50km (30 miles) in radius. You can see three countries from here - Estonia, Russia and Latvia.
This year current observation tower here celebrated it's 75-th anniversary.

Greetings from Australia
Who IS Ned Kelly?
Ned Kelly is perhaps Australia's best known bushranger. He was pursued by the police in country Victoria during the 1800's for robbery and assault. He is well known for a stand-off gun battle with police, where he and his gang wore armour that had been crafted using metal from farm ploughs.
The original armour and his death mask are on display in the State Library of Victoria, in central Melbourne. If this man fascinates you his story is documented in text and film on the State Library website found here.
Greetings from France
Greetings from Bilbao, Spain
Musée Guggenheim de Bilbao - Architecte Frank O.Gerhy
Maybe you know the famous Guggenheim museum of New York, but do you know that there are other Guggenheim museums worldwide ? I visited that one from Bilbao to Spain and it is the most incredible building which I saw !
A steel structure deserving of a spaceship, 2.500 windows, 33.000 patches of titanium, 11.000m2 (118,000sq ft) of the showrooms. its dynamic volumes, between sails and fishes, evoke a sea in the golden reflections.
Une structure en acier digne d'un vaisseau spatial, 2.500 vitres, 33 000 plaques de titane, 11 000m2 de salles d'exposition. Ses volumes dynamiques, entre voiles et poissons, évoquent une mer aux reflets d'or.
