« houp-oup-oup » upupup

The Wavy Crest is a very beautiful bird, a little fierce, whose flight resembles the flight of the butterfly.
Its cry is very recognizable «houp-oup-oup» it resonates in the spring in the woods and meadows.
Thanks to its long curved beak it feeds on insects (beetles, crickets, ants, woolly, caterpillars, various larvae ) which it finds in dung and droppings. It also feeds on grasshoppers, locusts and small snakes.
It is a migratory bird. In August-September it reaches the African continent and is back in spring
