40 women from 40 countries

March 8 is International Women's Day.

This collection of portraits of 40 women from 40 countries represents a diverse range of women, separated by their age, race, physical appearance, culture, style, and geographic location yet tied together by the thread of their unique femininity.

Everyday, in most every country around the world, young girls and women of all ages are shown what "beautiful" should mean to their bodies, their faces and their lives. These lies sold by advertisers do not take into account the true beauty that all women represent.

That yes, we are bodies, but we are also minds and souls. Emotions pour forth from our souls with ease, helping others around us to learn how to feel. We are industrious. We are creative. We stand beside those who require our help. We are many things unspoken and unrewarded. Yet, we keep a smile on our face and believe deeply in humanity.

This tribute to women around the world celebrates the feminine beauty within us all.
