November 14th is World Diabetes Day and we have created a special theme to raise awareness for this chronic disease which affects over 340 million people globally.
People with Diabetes cannot produce enough insulin or effectively use the insulin that their bodies produce. This leads to raised sugar levels in the blood which can have devastating effects when left untreated.
Studies have shown that diet and exercise can help significantly, particularly for those with Type II, or adult onset Diabetes.
As a global community, some of you may have been personally affected by Diabetes in some way. Show your support and help raise Diabetes awareness by posting a photo.
Perhaps it is a portrait of you or someone you know with Diabetes. Or even an image promoting healthy eating or exercise. You can also post something blue, which is the official color of international Diabetes awareness.
